Trevor Farnes of MTN OPS has supported Feeding America for six years. But even before this, the urgency for hunger was on his mind.
1 in 4 children in Davis County, Utah don't have enough food in their pantries. "That was my family. We were the 1 in 4," says Trevor.
Trevor never expected to find himself facing hunger; but after an unsuccessful business venture, Trevor's life took a sudden, drastic turn. The family's bank account was low, and the grocery bill was heavy on their minds. This growing anxiety came to a head on Thanksgiving Day, when the family was told that their home was on auction.
After this experience, Trevor says that he understands hunger in a way he couldn't before.
The family was losing hope - until one day, a miracle hit. Trevor's wife opened the door to find bags of groceries on their stoop. The family knew that as alone as they had felt, someone, somewhere, was there to help them.
Now, Trevor is helping others, spreading hope to families like his. On top of his support of Feeding America, he started an initiative: that for every purchase from his company, MTN OPS donates a meal to a child in need.
