DARBY STANCHFIELD currently stars as ‘Nina Locke’ in Netflix’s hit series ‘Locke & Key.’ Prior to ‘Locke & Key,’ Darby portrayed fan favorite 'Abby Whelan' for seven seasons on Shonda Rhimes’ and ABC's series 'Scandal.' In between television seasons, Darby has completed a number of films, including ‘Stargirl’, ‘Justine’, ‘The Clinic’, 'The Rendezvous,' 'Slumber,' and 'Carnage Park.'

Additionally, she appeared in Adrienne Shelley's critically acclaimed "Waitress," opposite Nathan Fillion and Keri Russell, and an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray" co-starring opposite Josh Duhamel. Prior to 'Scandal,' Darby's television credits include recurring roles on AMC's Emmy® Award-winning drama 'Mad Men,' opposite Nathan Fillion in ABC's crime thriller 'Castle,' CBS' 'NCIS' and 'Jericho,' and guest spots on 'Burn Notice,' 'CSI: Miami,' 'How I Met Your Mother,' 'CSI: New York,' 'The Mentalist,' 'Private Practice,' 'Bones,' 'Nip/Tuck,' 'Without a Trace,' and 'Monk.'

Stanchfield stepped behind the camera in 2017, in her directorial debut of a 6 part digital series, GLADIATOR WANTED, a web series that she also pitched and helped develop, that lives permanently on ABC's official Scandal website.  In the final season of SCANDAL, Stanchfield will direct an episode, marking her first directorial gig of episodic television.

Stanchfield has a Masters of Fine Arts from The American Conservatory Theatre and has several years experience in performing in various theatre roles.  Stanchfield has also acted in over a hundred national commercials in her earlier years in her career in LA.  She was born and raised in Alaska, where her father was a commercial fisherman.
