Across our country, millions of Americans enjoyed a meal with loved ones on Thanksgiving and then kicked off their holiday shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Then, on #GivingTuesday they gave back to help people in need.
#GivingTuesday is a day devoted to charitable giving that has grown into a global movement, uniting people around important values like generosity and kindness. Each year, anyone can join the movement by simply supporting causes that they are passionate about on #GivingTuesday and encouraging others to get involved too. This year, several of our corporate partners generously supported Feeding America on #GivingTuesday and demonstrated their commitment to fighting hunger:
- Delta Air Lines contributed $250,000 to six non-profit organizations, including Feeding America—for a total of $1.5 million
- For the third year in a row, Food Lion Feeds, the philanthropic arm of Food Lion, made a $10,000 donation, or 110,000 meals, to Feeding America
- From November 29 through December 6, Gilt will match every donation made on Gilt.com dollar for dollar, up to $10,000
- Many partners leveraged their Facebook and X presence to raise awareness of domestic hunger and Feeding America’s work, including: 7-Eleven, Abbott, Ally Financial, Crate & Barrel, Delta Air Lines, Food Lion, Garrett Popcorn Shops, Giant Eagle, Gilt, Giovanni’s Fish Market, The Great American Milk Drive, The Hershey Company, Kellogg Company, The Kroger Co., Midas, MINI USA, Nasdaq, Nestlé, P&G, Pampered Chef, Radisson, The Schwan Food Company, Spiritual Gangster, True Lemon, Turkey on the Table, Unilever, Walmart, Yard House, and many more!
Feeding America is deeply grateful to these partners for their dedication to hunger relief. Their support on #GivingTuesday and throughout the year enables us to meet the needs of people facing hunger across our nation.
Like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday gets bigger every year. This year, our supporters’ #GivingTuesday donations will enable our network to nourish many families this holiday season. We can’t wait to see how #GivingTuesday continues to grow!
