Looking for a creative way to spread the spirit of generosity?

A food drive is an incredible (and easy) way to engage your community and give back to your neighbors. Here are six fun ideas to make your food drive a hit:

Make holiday gatherings more than a meal: When your friends and family gather around the table, ask each guest to bring a can — or, include a QR code that links to a donation page beside each placemat. Create a "most needed" list of shelf-stable items to share in your invitation!

Hold a virtual bake sale: Let your friends and followers on social media know that you are making homemade baked goods, and that each purchase goes toward neighbors facing hunger. Spread the cheer by inviting friends over to pick up their treats, or hand delivering the goods to their doors.

Collaborate with your workplace: Host a friendly competition at your workplace to see which team can bring the largest number of donatable foods. Or, ask your employer if they collaborate with Feeding America on employee giving campaigns.

Host a virtual food drive: From birthday fundraisers to creative livestreams, Feeding America’s virtual fundraising platform, Team Feed, enables you and your friends to team up to hold a virtual food drive.

Track your progress: Motivate people to join the movement by visualizing your progress. Create a thermometer that shows how much you’ve raised, or even a physical sculpture built out of the items collected during the food drive.
