Tony Robbins and Feeding America® Partner to Provide 1 Billion Meals by 2025 to Help Families in Need

November 20, 2017

Feeding America announces the expansion of the 100 Million Meals Challenge, conducted in partnership with New York Times #1 best-selling author, philanthropist, and expert life and business strategist Tony Robbins, to ultimately provide 1 billion meals to children, families and seniors facing hunger through Feeding America’s network of 200 member food banks by December 31, 2025.

The 100 Million Meals Challenge, now in its third year, has raised more than 240 million meals to date. This year, Robbins has again laid the foundation for a successful campaign by donating a matching gift of $1.9 million comprised of his personal donations, all profits from his recent book Unshakeable and a portion of ticket sales from his signature Unleash the Power Within events.

Robbins continues to inspire corporate and individual donors to help fight hunger in the United States, with more than 40,000 donors participating last year alone. Donors can participate as either a co-funder of the Challenge matching pool or by having their funds matched by Robbins’ leadership gift.

Greatly impacted by the kindness of strangers when, at age 11, his family received a Thanksgiving dinner during a time of need, Robbins began to live out the belief that “if strangers care for me, then I can care for strangers.” Now, having supported hunger-relief for more than three decades through Feeding America, through his company (Robbins Research International, Inc.) and through his foundation (The Tony Robbins Foundation), Robbins is once again inviting others to give.

“I’m struck by the radical contrast between those with enormous wealth and those who are still living like how I grew up, in a ‘food insecure’ household,” explained Robbins. “I hate to see suffering, and right now, people are suffering. Join me in my mission to eliminate hunger by donating today – your gift will be matched, so your impact is doubled.” He continued, “And, even more, Feeding America maximizes your donation. Ninety-eight cents of every dollar goes directly back into programs and services.”

Feeding America CEO Diana Aviv said, “Tony’s energy, leadership and dedication to hunger relief are unrivaled. On behalf of the 46 million people who receive food assistance by the Feeding America network each year, we extend our deep appreciation to him for his creative efforts and commitment to fight hunger.”
