Internship Opportunity:
We are hiring interns to help support our programming and work on projects that help us provide comprehensive and innovative services to neighbors in need. As a summer intern, you'll dive headfirst into the heart of our operations. You will have access to opportunities for professional engagement and mentoring by our staff. The internship program will run from June 2, 2025, to August 8, 2025, and interns can expect to work between 20 - 40 hours per week. Interns will work alongside food bank staff and will be provided valuable hands-on experience in support of our mission job shadowing, providing administrative support, conducting data and program analysis, and supporting program execution in various areas, including Finance, HR, IT, Marketing & Communications, Fundraising, Community Outreach, Operations, Programs, and Workforce Development.
What You'll Do:
- Projects: Participate in various projects to help support the role's administrative, operational, or technical functions. Focus on assisting Treasure Coast Food Bank in achieving its goals through managing data, researching, and gathering documentation.
- Food Distribution: Help sort, pack, and distribute food to our network of partner agencies and directly to individuals and families in need.
- Event Planning: Help organize and execute fundraising events, food drives, and community outreach activities to support our initiatives.
- Advocacy and Education: Learn about food insecurity and advocacy efforts while advocating for policies that address the root causes of hunger.
Who We're Looking For:
- Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university with an interest or previous experience in a social service or nonprofit setting.
- Passionate individuals who are committed to making a difference in their community.
- Demonstrated time management/organizational skills.
- Be comfortable working with diverse populations and speaking in front of groups (as needed).
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-starters who are proactive and can work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative skills such as Canva, Adobe, or social media are a plus.
- Technical aptitude (familiarity with Microsoft Outlook 365 & Microsoft Teams) is essential for success.
- Bi-lingual language skills are a plus.
