The Sr. Quality Specialist leads the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures to meet established quality standards. This includes performing process audits and inspections, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities and ensuring that effective resolutions are achieved. Additionally, this position coaches best quality practices and fosters a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience
•Certified Lead/Internal Auditor certification preferred
•PMP certification or experience in Project Management is highly desirable
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
•Ability to assist in the development or develop policies, procedures, and metrics
•Ability to analyze data and create and review processes
•Self-motivated, assertive, and ability to work under pressure with deadlines both independently and within a team
•Demonstrated ability to build and foster trust-based relationships; collaborative and inclusive team player
•Strong verbal, written, and other communication skills
•Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience:
•Three years in a quality role within the food supply chain or a related field is highly preferred
•One year of auditing experience, with prior work in a regulated environment required
•Experience with LEAN or similar process improvement methodologies a plus
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Collaborate with the process owner to develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that minimize risk, ensure compliance and uphold the integrity, reliability, and predictability of food bank operations, products and services
•Leverage expertise of regulatory requirements (Quality, ISO, DOT, FDA) and apply knowledge to evaluate regulatory changes, assess risks, and analyze their impact on the business
•Lead and direct efforts to assess the implementation of quality management systems to drive performance improvement, enhance departmental integrity and optimize system efficiency
•Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures, programs, and processes to ensure conformance with quality, regulatory, and company requirements
•Plan and perform routine process and procedural audits
•Provide ongoing guidance to operations personnel regarding regulatory and quality matters
•Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and initiate corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to establish effective and satisfactory resolutions
•Utilize Lean & Six Sigma tools to drive quality and continuous Improvement activities across the organization
•Coordinate NTFB’s business continuity and disaster recovery efforts
•Lead committees within the Quality department’s scope, including but not limited to the Data Quality Committee and Change Control Committee
•Represent and/or lead special projects identified by or assigned to the department, this includes cross-functional projects
•Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
