Description

As a Senior Director of Operations, you will provide insight and recommendations for short and long-term initiatives and continuously evaluate the acquisition and distribution flow of food products. You will be responsible for managing the distribution centers which includes optimal number and location of distribution centers as well as plant configuration. You will also effectively communicate and represent internal and external needs of constituents and stakeholders supported by the CFBNJ Operations team.

Job responsibilities

Determine optimal inventory flow through network and develop high-level planning models.
Plan activities to maintain compliance and change controls in accordance with industry best practices and required standards.
Maintain operational procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (process flow diagrams and instructional guides)
Ensure maximum compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Distribution Practices, OSHA, USDA, FANO, AIB and other areas of regulatory oversight.
Develop effective metrics, KPIs, and monitoring programs.
Develop and support staff development programs.
Work cross functionally to identify gaps between teams and ensure a seamless process.
Support in developing an inbound logistics cost model and customer delivery models.
Optimize inbound and outbound flows at all distribution sites.
Support in implementing stock replenishment parameters and inventory strategies.
Develop robust reporting/metrics and insights around performance/cost parameters.
Develop and maintain inventory planning processes and quality assurance standards.
Lead critical cross functional initiatives from concept to execution.
Implement and manage the quality of deliverables.
Conduct analysis and lead teams to conduct analysis.
Create and maintain a team-oriented environment through effective coaching and mentoring.
Create a culture of continuous improvement in operations leading to a pipeline of improvement opportunities.

Application qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience managing multiple large-scale warehouses with experience related to supply chain or operations management or in other areas including but not limited to, business, economics, or engineering, or 13 years of leadership experience managing multiple large-scale warehouses with experience related to supply chain or operations management or in other areas including but not limited to, business, economics, or engineering
Prior Cold Chain distribution experience is a plus.
Knowledge of warehousing operations in a manufacturing environment as well as solid knowledge and experience in planning, procurement, logistics and integrated systems required.
Working knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement principles (lean/six sigma), project management, change management.
Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
Must be able to present complex theoretical concepts and empirical performance data effectively to a variety of audiences.
Must exhibit strong leadership skills with particular emphasis on cross-functional relationship development.
Integrity and the ability to gain the confidence and trust of colleagues.
Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
Knowledgeable in Export documentation and controls.
Ability to effectively maintain a culture of continuous improvement is essential.
Extensive experience with industry-standard software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Ceres experience strongly desired.
Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws, and regulations related to DOT.
