We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Nutrition Manager to lead and enhance Food Bank of the Rockies’ nutrition initiatives. The Nutrition Manager will maintain and oversee the implementation of Food Bank of the Rockies’ nutrition guidelines to support our ongoing commitment to community health. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of our Food for Health program, developing and delivering nutrition education, and engaging with our partners and neighbors to understand and meet their dietary preferences and needs. Candidates must be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to be considered for this position.

Job responsibilities

• Lead the communication, and implementation of nutrition guidelines, as aligned with organizational mission and strategic vision
• Represent Food Bank of the Rockies on nutrition-related committees and events, including Feeding America committees and workshops
• Assist with operational and programmatic goal setting to improve the nutritional profile and diversity of food distributed
• Manage the Dietetic Internship Program to include outreach, maintaining partnerships and required documentation, training and evaluating interns, and assigning projects and experiences
• Evaluate and make recommendations on Hunger Relief Programs’ nutritional quality (Child and Adult Care Food Program and Summer Food Service Program meals, Mobile Pantry, Totes of Hope and other kids’ nutrition programs, Food for Health, Everyday Eats Boxes, etc.).
• Work closely with Sourcing and Culturally Responsive Food Initiative teams to ensure nutritious, culturally responsive food is available to meet neighbors’ and partners’ needs.
• Lead education efforts regarding the effects of nutrition status and food environment on food insecurity and health with neighbors, partners, staff, and other stakeholders.
• Develop menus and recipes for Totes of Hope and other kids’ programs, Everyday Eats boxes, and Food for Health
• Create nutrition education and other outreach materials for Healthcare and Everyday Eats Box programs
• Support programs’ compliance with USDA nutrition requirements, food safety standards, nutrition guidelines, and other expectations identified by the organization
• Maintain and build strong working knowledge of the impact of food and nutrition on disease states and health and how Food Bank of the Rockies can address those with food interventions
• Manage the activities and staff associated with the Food for Health program
• Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to develop and share nutrition-related content for Food Bank of the Rockies’ website, social media pages, and other platforms as needed
• Work with the Development team to assist with applications, budget tracking, and reporting for grant opportunities related to health and nutrition
• Collaborate with the Research & Evaluation team to establish monitoring and evaluation procedures for Food for Health and nutrition related projects (nutrition guidelines, HER/SWAP), including surveys and outcomes/impact assessments. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations related to the acquisition, storage and sharing of Food for Health participant data
• Network with nutrition-related community, state, and national organizations to make optimal use of resources
• Coordinate with Development and Finance staff to ensure compliance methods are in place with grant requirements and evaluations of program outcomes
• Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring the privacy and respect of employees, volunteers, partners, donors, or others

Required Qualifications:
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; or equivalent work-related experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in related nutrition field
• Prior experience administering a nutrition program
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
• Non-profit experience strongly preferred
• Food service and program management experience preferred
• ServSafe Manager Certification is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and Outlook)
• Experience using collaborative tools for file storage, sharing, and scheduling meetings

Expected Hours of Work:

This is an exempt, full-time position. Work schedules may vary each week and may consist of weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays. A flexible work schedule is available with the option to work remotely from Colorado or Wyoming. Travel within the geographic regions will be required and is primarily local during the business day.
