Description

Member of the Chicago's Community Kitchens (CCK) Team, supporting the production and packaging
of prepared meals as well as the production of onsite cold/hot meals. Onsite catering includes
hospitality management from intimate lunches to large scale catering for the entire organization. This
role assists the Production & Catering Manager with administrative duties as needed. Additionally, the
Production Assistant executes a variety of directives in various areas of the kitchen.

Job responsibilities

Production Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
• Prepare and package meals according to recipe specifications
• Assist in recipe formulation, preparation of labels and corresponding documentation
• Assist with monitoring and documentation of HACCP procedures and other mandatory
compliance guidelines
• Assist with product ordering and inventory control
• Assist with data entry in menu scheduling application; including the entry of meal
components, portion size and ingredient information
- Adhere and ensure compliance with HACCP and sanitation processes and procedures, assist in
monitoring IDA compliance regulations
- Other duties as assigned

Application qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Working knowledge of food-cost and inventory control
• Food Service Sanitation Certification (City and State) or ability to pass test for certification
• Must be organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to take direction and feedback
• Ability to push, pull and lift equipment and food containers that weigh up to 50 pounds
• Ability to communicate with vendors
• Proficient with MS office suite programs
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• High energy and motivated, with a positive attitude
• Ability to problem-solve

EXPOSURE:
• Typical commercial kitchen environment
• Warehouse as directed, may include freezer /refrigerator temperatures.
