The Donor Services & Insights Manager is a key member of the Development team, responsible for proactively and comprehensively managing all development processes and procedures, including database management, donor analytics, and data strategy. The Donor Services & Insights Manager supports both the needs of donors such as answering questions, updating records, and maintaining accurate gift records, and the needs of the Development team through report generation, CRM user training, determining how to best code/track gifts, etc. The Donor Services & Insights Manager reports directly to the Director of Development and supervises the Data Entry Specialist and Donor Services & Insights Coordinator.

Job responsibilities

Essential Functions, include, but are not limited to:
• Oversee the organization’s CRM database, including data integrity, accuracy of records, process improvement, data analysis, and training staff on standard procedures.
• Oversee gift entry, finance reconciliation, and acknowledgment processes and ensure timely stewardship of donors.
• Oversee the Development team’s prospect research function ensuring that we prioritize the right donors at all times.
• Supervise the Data Entry Specialist and Donor Services & Insights Coordinator.
• Facilitate a relationship management system to cultivate relationships with current donors and new prospects, using best practices in fundraising techniques.
• Maintain process for identifying and tracking planned giving prospects, bequest commitments, and realized bequests.
• Support frontline fundraisers and executive leadership with their major donor portfolios, including preparing reports, producing prospect research and providing high-level examination of portfolios, assessing health, meaningful activities, and opportunity progress.
• Build reports, dashboards, and visualizations to make insights accessible to the Director of Development and provide recommendations to better cultivate donors.
• Maintain a positive work environment by conducting all communications with clients, visitors, colleagues, co-workers and supervisors in a professional, friendly, cooperative, and helpful manner.
• Attend staff meetings and other administrative meetings as assigned/appropriate.
• Perform other job functions as requested or assigned.

Application qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Three or more years of professional experience in donor or customer services/relations that includes coordination of processes and procedures, database management and data analytics

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Proactive and self-starter attitude – ability to work independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced and agile environment
• Effective in working well under pressure with tight deadlines
• Demonstrated experience managing a constituent relationship management (CRM) database
• Exceptional customer service skills; ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, and staff
• Strong capacity to translate complex concepts and analyses into comprehendible recommendations and plans
• Demonstrated track record in coordinating and executing tasks and/or projects
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong research and analytical skills with an ability to synthesize complex information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – specifically strong experience with Microsoft Excel; experience with digital marketing platforms, wealth screening software, and research tools helpful
• Intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada provides food for families in need through more than 155 partner agencies across northern Nevada and the eastern slope of the Sierra in California and direct service programs. We serve more than 153,000 people every month, almost half of whom are children and seniors.

Travel:
Local travel to donor-related and outreach/engagement events may be required. Occasional overnight travel to attend training conferences and workshops.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Days and hours may vary from normal schedule when program schedule adjusts or other special events arise.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position supervises the Data Entry Specialist and the Donor Services & Insights Coordinator positions. This position may also supervise undergraduate or graduate-level interns.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in an office setting. Employee may occasionally work in the field and may be subject to differing weather conditions. Employee utilizes a computer a significant portion of the day. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate computers, objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability and patience to sit for long periods of time entering data.
