Food Bank of the Rockies' Development Database Specialist (the Specialist) provides essential support to the Database and Development teams in a fast-paced, high-achieving environment. This role reviews, processes, enters, reconciles, and acknowledges donations received daily through assigned giving verticals which may include, but are not limited to, online giving, lockbox, events, white mail, and/or ACH. The Specialist brings a detail-oriented, analytical skillset to the team to provide high-quality data entry, data analysis, database maintenance, basic financial reconciliation, and reporting. This role specializes in their assigned giving verticals, functioning as the team's subject matter expert and thought leader in their areas of responsibility.

Job responsibilities

• Review and verify gift import and/or scan files
• Update donor and gift records with information from import/scan files in Raiser's Edge and identify and pass along any personal correspondence associated with gifts
• Enter donations into Raiser's Edge via manual data entry and/or import
• Merge, format, edit, and print gift acknowledgment letters for donations received; ensuring they are free of error and accurately represent the data entered
• Coordinate with the Executive Assistant to ensure timely signature of acknowledgment under the CEO's signature
• Learn, maintain and properly use printers and specialized mailing equipment, including envelope printer and envelope folder/inserter; diagnosing issues and coordinating service if needed.
• Reconcile gifts for assigned giving verticals and generate reconciliation reports for Finance
• Pull reports, queries, and mailing lists for assigned giving verticals
• Specialize in assigned giving verticals, providing leadership on enhancing processes and reporting, and staying up-to-date on best practices in these areas
• Complete routine database clean-up, including constituent and gift updates, duplicate record identification and merging, and donor-requested changes
• Assist in overall database hygiene through regular auditing, reporting, and maintenance work
• In conjunction with other data team members, write, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures for Food Bank of the Rockies' processes and databases, including but not limited to Raiser's Edge, ResearchPoint, and Luminate Online
• Process returned mail and NCOA updates
• Provide backup support to other Database team members
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and privileged donor information and protects organization operations

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Commitment to fulfilling the Food Bank of the Rockies mission and positively representing the brand both internally and externally

• Strong database and analytical skills, experience in Raiser's Edge and ImportOmatic a plus
• Maintain a professional demeanor and respond with urgency

• Self-directed, dependable, and accountable for individual results
• Extreme detail-orientation and accuracy with both numbers and written documentation

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma required; Bachelors' Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
• Minimum of 1-3 years prior experience working in Databases, Analysis, Prospect Research, Accounting/Finance, and/or Development
• Non-profit experience and working knowledge of fundraising a plus
• High proficiency with computers and technology; ability to quickly adapt to new programs a must
• Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite; highly proficient in Word and Excel required
• Raiser's Edge, ResearchPoint, Luminate Online, and/or ImportOmatic management experience strongly preferred

Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hybrid position typically working Monday – Friday. Work schedule will require at least two (2) days working in-person. Weekend or evening hours may be occasionally required.
