Description

The Corporate & Community Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in building and nurturing relationships cross-departmentally and with corporate partners, volunteers, and the local community. The position is a fundraising and support position, that contributes to the overall mission of the Food Bank of the Rockies working closely with all three areas of the Community Engagement team (CET): Corporate Partnerships, Events & Promotions, and Volunteer Relations. The Specialist will work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and is responsible for managing virtual and physical food drives, strengthening corporate and community partnerships, supporting volunteerism, and handling administrative tasks. The Specialist also engages with community members to raise awareness and promote the organization’s initiatives.

Job responsibilities

Food Drive and In-kind Donation Management:
• Manage and expand Food Bank of the Rockies virtual and in-person physical food drives and meal-packing event programs
• Ensure effective cultivation and stewardship of donor relationships through timely communication, personalized emails or letters of appreciation, and distribution of promotional items and swag to enhance engagement and support for the cause
• Serve as the Classy platform expert, assisting donors in setting up and executing successful virtual food drive campaigns while providing support materials and logistical planning
• Maintain effective communication and coordinate with Operations and Transportation teams regarding the logistics
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain food drive, in-kind donation, and meal-packing events policies and resource manuals
• Prepare reports, track metrics, and analyze data to measure program effectiveness

Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising:
• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with employers, internal company influencers, and employees to grow corporate and individual donor and volunteer relationships
• Collaborate with the Director of Community Engagement, Corporate Partnerships Manager, and Volunteer Manager to develop and maintain a strategy to actively solicit corporate and group volunteer participation, including seeking shift sponsorships, event sponsorships, and larger contributions, and renewing corporate event days
• Assist with the activation and execution of grant deliverables
• Assist with the planning and execution of engagement of corporate partner prospects who are not in a portfolio, including assisting with solicitations
• Solicit corporate in-kind requests for events and the volunteer program
• Work in partnership with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to develop and expand tracking and stewardship of external workplace giving campaigns and corporate matching gift programs
• Manage assigned corporate relationships and workplace-giving campaigns

Community and Volunteer Engagement:
• Co-lead Volunteer Outreach Team (VOT) in collaboration with Volunteer Manager including community lunch and learns, workshops, third-party events, and meetings, representing the Food Bank of the Rockies to encourage volunteerism, engage new audiences, and expand the volunteer pool
• Facilitate the coordination and management of corporate volunteer engagement, specifically focusing on coordinating communication (i.e., pre-shift communication and post-shift follow-up), welcoming volunteers on-site, and stewardship activities to enhance the volunteer experience
• Monitor the CET and volunteer calendar for key partner activities and coordinate team and leadership activities
• Lead young professional (YP) engagement initiatives on behalf of the organization, including planning, coordinating, and overseeing special YP volunteer shift events and other engagement activities to foster community involvement and organizational support

Administrative Support:
• Assist in the activation and implementation of various projects within the CET, including executing the cultivation and stewardship plans for corporate and in-kind donors and volunteers
• Provide support at various sites to local third-party and community events alongside the Events & Promotions team
• Assist in the execution of internal and signature events as needed
• Work with the Data Development Systems team to conduct industry research, identifying potential new partner opportunities
• Coordinate preparation and follow-up for team meetings including conducting basic prospect and donor research, drafting agendas and briefing documents, taking meeting minutes, and preparing takeaway materials and follow-up correspondence
• Create, refine, and implement standard operating procedures to enhance team efficiency
• Responsible for maintaining accurate corporate data in Raiser’s Edge/NXT database and creating reports in volunteer management software
• Other administrative support as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Commitment to fulfilling the Food Bank of the Rockies mission and positively representing the brand both internally and externally
• Commitment to excellence and efficiency, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to create solutions within a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-through skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort speaking in both small-group and large-group settings
• Ability to exercise appropriate level of professionalism and discretion when dealing with confidential information
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Knowledge of effective relationship-based fundraising techniques and practices for promotions/cause-marketing, events, and corporate partnerships a plus

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience
• Three (3) years or more of development, volunteer coordination, and/or administrative experience with an emphasis on corporate and volunteer partnerships and events in a non-profit setting preferred
• Experience in Raiser’s Edge CRM or similar CRM is preferred and knowledge and experience in peer-to-peer platform Classy and volunteer management software are highly desired
• Experience in working with volunteers a plus
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook
• Bilingual is highly preferred; Spanish preferred
