Panera, LLC, the Panera Bread Foundation and Feeding America are pleased to announce a strategic alliance that will be in place through December 31, 2013. This partnership builds on Panera’s long history of donating its day-end bread and baked goods as well as proceeds from its Panera Cares Community Breadbox™ program to non-profits across the country, and has been forged so that Panera can better use its resources, scale and expertise to provide not only funds but also quality, nutritious food to Feeding America and its network of local food banks.
In partnership with its customers, the Panera Bread Foundation will be donating 50 percent of the funds from the Company’s Panera Cares Community Breadboxes at more than 700 Company-owned* Panera Bread bakery-cafes to support local Feeding America food banks. The remaining 50 percent of funds will be used to procure Panera soup, which will be donated to participating food banks.
Panera Bread Company-owned bakery-cafes will also match 10 percent of all funds donated by its customers. This 10 percent match will be directed to the Feeding America national office and support efforts to source and distribute quality food to the Feeding America network.
Panera and Feeding America continue to seek additional ways to partner with the goal of harnessing the power of Panera Bread bakery-cafes and associates nationwide to raise awareness and understanding about hunger.
*Please note: this particular strategic alliance does not currently apply to franchise-operated locations.
