With over 30 years of finance, IT, culture and workforce transformation and operational leadership experience, Anna Bourne was most recently a senior partner and business leader at Ernst & Young LLP. Before retiring in June 2024, Anna served as a global client service senior partner coordinating top global accounts.
Anna’s record of exceptional client service and business leadership success directly contributed to the growth of the EY organization into a $45.4b professional services firm recognized on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® list 24 years in a row. It also earned her recognition as a recipient of the EY Chairman’s Value Award, and she was named as one the top women leaders in consulting by Consulting Magazine.
Anna worked with multinational Fortune 250 clients to execute global business transformations, lead global accounts and managed Talent and Risk practices with profit and loss responsibilities. With a reputation as a purpose-driven and highly relational leader, she developed both businesses and people with a leadership approach rooted in trust, commitment and flexibility.
Previously, Anna served as the EY Americas Advisory Talent Leader responsible for innovating and leading comprehensive programs to empower 40,000 professionals to achieve their career aspirations. She is credited with evolving the EY approach to talent in a period of significant disruption and changing generational needs. Anna also served as the Northeast Region Advisory Risk Leader and Southeast Region Advisory Risk Leader where she was responsible for all client service, business development, people and quality matters.
Anna’s global network of connections and ability to simplify and solve complex issues positioned her to contribute to board oversight roles and engage board colleagues and management with clear, strategic and innovative insights. She served on EY’s global Nominating and Appointments Committee for the selection of EY’s new Global CEO, the first female Global CEO in the industry. She has significant board experience as a senior advisor to senior management teams and audit committees. For ten years, Anna served as a board member and ultimately the Treasurer for Head Start, a nonprofit focused on serving the educational needs of low-income families.
A recognized thought leader in the industry, Anna has facilitated numerous events and information technology roundtables to address emerging trends. She is a frequent contributor to published thought leadership and co-founded a leading women’s network in 2010. Anna was also sponsored to attend executive leadership programs at Harvard, INSEAD, Northwestern and London Business School.
Anna earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She is a CPA licensed in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Illinois and Georgia. She is qualified to serve as a financial expert under SEC, NYSE and NASDAQ rules and currently has top security clearance in the US. Anna is a Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Management Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor, and she has a Certification in Risk Management Assurance.
