Following the release of the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA) and the MyPlate icon earlier this year, the USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy & Promotion (CNPP) announced a multilevel partnership program. The goal of these partnerships is to assist in the dissemination and adoption of the 2010 DGA throughout the country. Seven specific messages have been selected and assigned a unique dissemination period between September 2011 and December 2013. National partners are responsible for actively contributing and executing innovative tactics to promote these messages that are tailored to their specific client or consumer base on a national level. Community partners work on a local level to reach consumers and help them make meaningful, sustainable, healthy dietary changes, based on the Dietary Guidelines.
