Position Description

The Vice President of Foundation Relationships leads Feeding America’s efforts to manage the charitable relationship with the organizations principal foundation partners and to develop new relationships with this important sector.

Job Responsibilities

• Manages a team of high performance fundraisers focusing on the top 20 foundation relationships of the Feeding America national office.
• Leads donor strategy for the portfolio of relationships to generate support for the organization’s strategic plan.
• Serves as a key member of philanthropy leadership within the department.
• Builds a collaborative relationship with member food banks for the linkage of foundation proposals between local and national levels.
• Manages a portfolio of key foundation relationships.
• Increase the overall fundraising from foundations by 25% a year through building new and strengthening existing relationships.
• Improve the visibility of the hunger challenge and the solutions offered by Feeding America and its network of food banks among foundation program officers.
• Manage a personal portfolio of at least five key foundation relationships and provide strategy oversight for all relationships managed by the foundation team.
• Mentor less experienced foundation staff members in donor management.

Application Qualifications

• BA/BS in a related field and/or high level fundraising certification.
• Ten years or more of experience in managing high level donor relationships and fundraisers.
• Demonstrated experience with foundation fundraising.
• Ability to recruit strong fundraisers to the organization.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in cultivating multi-million dollar gifts including developing donor strategies, solicitation approaches and donor stewardship.
• Ability to bring in colleagues for collaboration.
• Strong skills at proposal development.
• A deep commitment to the mission of Feeding America.
