Position Description

To assist with the overall funding of the West Texas Food Bank through the development and submission of successful grant proposals to achieve the overall mission of the Food Bank.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Researches and identifies new government, corporate and private funding prospects to acquire funds for organization needs identified within the 22 county service area.
  • ·Generates proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations.
  • Generates revenues for agency programs and services through timely submission of well-researched, well-written and well-documented fund-raising proposals.
  • Maintains and implements funding calendar activities, including cultivation activities.
  • Communicates with funding agencies or organizations to assure compliance with proposal  requirements.
  • Engages with program officers to solicit invitations to submit proposals.
  • Develops and submits special projects as needed.
  • Align organizational needs and potential grant funding.
  • Interact with Food Bank departments to determine needs and help develop strategies to accomplish goals.
  • Upon funding, reviews projects and budgets with staff assigned to administer the project and provides copies of the funded projects to the assigned grant administrator.
  • Prepares and submits various periodic reports as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

 

Application Qualifications

Qualifications:  College degree in related discipline with at least 3 years of successful grant writing experience and program development.  Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.
