This position will provide a pivotal leadership role within the organization; will focus on the day-to-day execution of strategic goals and objectives; and will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving operational capacity, processes, and infrastructure to provide operational services.

Job responsibilities

* Recruit, motivate, and lead a high-performance team whose responsibilities encompass operations (warehouse, transportation, facility management, food procurement, food handling, and employee safety).
* Collaborate with leadership to establish and accomplish annual organizational and programmatic goals and objectives in conjunction with the organization’s strategic planning.
* Offer advice, guidance, and direction on business matters, including operational policies, continuous process improvement strategies, and new initiatives. Foster and support an environment of solutions, accountability, and successful outcomes.
* Identify and drive change initiatives that improve operational workflow and productivity while maintaining focus on adding value to the end client.
* Research and analyze trends in operational areas in support of strategic planning and day-to-day problem-solving. Implement appropriate measures to enhance outcomes.
* Assist with various cross-functional organizational projects to include the documentation and communication of new, updated, and/or revised standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Manage the workflow of assigned staff, manage performance, and make equitable staffing recommendations. Encourage staff development and other employee professional growth opportunities. Perform all duties and maintain all standards per Action Pathways Inc. policies and procedures.
* Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Facilities Management, Safety, and Security
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure verification of inventory, as needed through physical inventory and/or cycle counts.
* Oversees maintenance of building, grounds, equipment, machinery, HVAC, refrigeration systems, vehicles, and pest management program
* Provide oversight to developing and maintaining organizational security and safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, productive, and accident-free work environment.
* Responsible for business continuity and disaster relief plans
* Ensure Action Pathways compliance with OSHA, AIB, Feeding America, North Carolina Department of Agriculture, food industry, and other relevant licensed regulators.
* Develop and maintain facility preventative maintenance and replacement plans.

Logistics, Inventory Control
* Monitors reclamation activities: Maintains an efficient workload and flow of product. Ensures safe handling and storage practices are implemented, segregating products as required by Feeding America and sanitation codes.
* Coordinates warehouse operations with food drives and special events.
* Coordinates donation pick-ups with volunteers and staff. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations regarding the transportation of food. Evaluates operational resources and practices for maximum effectiveness.
* Direct and oversee fleet management ensuring all state and federal compliance are monitored and documented. Establish, maintain, and update detailed written policies and procedures.
* Perform necessary management of the inventory system, including accurate data entry, invoicing, receiving, and reporting (including end-of-month reports and Feeding America quarterly reports)
* Perform cycle counts in collaboration with the Inventory Control Clerk

Supervisory Responsibilities
* Directly supervises Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Control Clerk, and Reclamation Coordinator.

Application qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field Six years of direct experience in food distribution and 5 years’ experience as a supervisor.

Experience: Must have had experience in supervising others. Facilities management experience is desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Other Requirements:
* Read, analyze, and interpret regulations, reports, etc. Must be able to write reports, correspondence, and manuals.
* Operate computer software programs including internet and word processing and learn program-specific software within 90 days of employment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Background checks with state and Federal law enforcement agencies are required. Selected applicants must submit to a pre-employment substance abuse screening test and receive a negative result for the use of drugs and alcohol as specified in agency policies. Must submit and receive negative results for random testing of same. The employee must have a valid North Carolina Driver's License. Must be able to pass a post-offer physical examination.
